Be Happy!!! : )

H a p p y F r i d a y !!!

I am so excited, I get to celebrate with family and friends this Memorial Day weekend. They are driving in tomorrow. I still need to grocery shopping. ARGHH!!! What else, I am also finishing up a few pieces to send off to FolkWorks Gallery in Evanston, IL. I will mail those out tomorrow. I will post photos on Tuesday. FolkWorks will be hosting there 17th Anniversary Cheers for America Show starting on Friday June 1st, so if you are in the area stop in and visit with them and check out some great folk art pieces. If you are interested in purchasing any of my designs please contact FolkWorks Gallery direct.

I have a secret to share. I just love, love, love finding treasures. Especially those that are sweet and unique. I frequently visit several thrift stores in my area. I think all the employees know me by now(l0l). I found this cute Japanese mask. I plan on displaying it somewhere. Not sure yet. Check out this card; I got it for only .50 cents. I scored another typewriter. This one I will use the keys for sure to create something. The umbrella was also sweet. The photos don't show the great pastel colors. The doll was only $1.99 and a bit dirty, but I will clean her up. On her back was a date of 1960. I am quite sure someone made her as a gift or something, but I think she is sweet. I know these aren't the best photos but they will do for now. If anyone can recommend a good camera that takes great closeup shots please let me know. Be patient with me. I am still learning the ropes. I will get better with time.
I also wanted to tell you all about this great blog I found online today. Not sure how I got to it, but I found it. You know how much I adore unique hand bags and totes. Well, this blog is way cool to me. her bags are fun and festive. Her blog also had great links to Japanese fabrics and other supplies. I also found a blog called You have to check them out.
Well, I need to go. I wish everyone a safe and joyous
M e m o r i a l D a y weekend.

Take a ride to Buggy Seat Antiques

Hey, how are you today. My day was quite busy. After taking the kids swimming and enduring my 45 minute workout class with Vicki. I am a bit sore but we managed to make a few stops before we went home today. We attended the Farmer's Market in downtown Canal Winchester. Things seemed a bit slow but we were able to get a few goodies. We also found this great Antique shoppe in Canal call Buggy Seat Antiques. Wow! very heartwarming place. Loaded with great prim and folk art pieces as well as antiques. I got to meet the owners. They are so sweet. Felt just like home. They also have ponies : )

Plein Air Painting with Chuck Marshall

Hello All, I know I am late in posting this information. This week is really busy for me. My mother-in-law is in town visiting so my time is limited. Well, I wanted to bring you up to date on the art event last Saturday. I had a great time. This was a private event just for the CWAG members. Mostly all the painters attended but I wanted to attend to meet some of the other members as well as learn something new. The artwork was great!! and I learned some great tips from Plein Air painter Chuck Marshall. The event was held at Sharon's home. Her home is just beautiful and her property is HUGE. I think she told me they have about 11 acres. That is alot compared to little 2 1/2 acres. She gave us a tour of property. I don't know what I would do with all that land. Here are a few pictures:

Roadside Finds and Art Show at Four Seasons Bed and Breakfast

Hello All,

I got an opportunity to stop at a few garage sales this weekend check out my finds
the fabric flower were just $1 I got a few of those and the typewriter was only $5 I can't believe they only wanted $5 for it. I am not sure if I will just display it or use it for parts for assemblage art. I will definitely be garage sale shopping again soon.

My Saturday was so much fun. After taking my daughter swimming. I came home and got ready to attend the Cinco De Mayo art show held at the Four Seasons Farm B & B. This is such a great place to visit. If you are in the area you should check it out. Jenny the owner is such a sweet person. The B&B has two suites for guest the entire house is beautiful not to mention the grounds. Most of the furnishings are antiques and she has alot of art pieces available for purchase. I will tempted to buy a few things myself. This was be a great weekend getaway. They also have horses which are so pretty. Didn't make it over to the stables to take pics. I will on my next visit.

Here are some pics of the inside of the house.

Hello Everyone

Hello everyone, I decided to try out this blogging thing. I had contemplated doing the for quite some time now. Just hadn't set things up. After speaking with a dear friend of mine Sylvia. She informed me how easy and fun it was to create. So, I thought was the hack, let me go ahead and give this a try. I know once it play around in here I will get the swing of things in no time.

I hope you are enjoying the great weather. We are finally in the 70's here in Ohio and I am loving it!!!

Got out and helped the hubby in the yard today. Boy!!, do we have some work to do. We were blessed to get a home on 2 1/2 acres and we have to do all the landscaping. We hired a landscape designer to help us get an idea on what we want to do in the front and the back. So, we are pretty much just going rock hunting right now. (LOL) I am excited, the designer should have plans for us next week. Here is a photo of the back yard. Our yard stop when you start to see our neighbors green grass. Now this doesn't show the sides of the house. We will be busy this summer.

Let me see what else is going on with me. I am working on pieces for which will feature a flower theme this month. I am so excited about our feature theme on (AFA) I think you will enjoy them. I should have them completed next week. I am also working on some designs for a new magazine GiftMakers. They should be in the Holiday 2007 issue.
I was invited to attend the Cinco De Mayo Artistic Celebration of Nature at the Four Seasons Farm(Bed Breakfast and Barn). This event is hosted by the Canal Winchester Art Guild (CWAG). The guild will be celebrating artwork of the season and the farm will be celebrating the first fruits of their labor by offering their garden fresh produce. Seems like a great place to visit. I will let you know how things go. Well, I need to get going so I will talk to you soon. Smiles, Elaine
